Cisco has warned about a high-severity zero-day vulnerability in its Catalyst SD-WAN Manager (formerly known as vManage) that it is being exploited to climb privileges to root in both on-premises and in its managed cloud offers, including FedRAMP environments. This is an input validation failure that allows an attacker with limited access to run arbitrary commands like root after uploading a manipulated file, a particularly dangerous condition when central software controls thousands of perimeter devices from a single panel.
